Rubber belt

Rubber belt is available in various cover grades and thicknesses. Rubber belts are important utilities in a wide range of contexts. Rubber belt is valued because of its elastomeric properties. It is soft, flexible and can be easily formed. It also can be bonded easily to cover materials. Rubber belt can be used as power transmission belting in industrial process equipment, or it can be used in conveyor systems.

A few examples of rubber belt products include transmission belting for agricultural equipment like threshers, small belts for consumer utilities like sewing machines and heavy duty industrial belts for manufacturing equipment. In conveyor systems, flat rubber conveyor belts can be used in grocery stores, in food processing facilities and in many other settings.

Different rubber belt applications call for different kinds of rubber belts. A round belt used for power transmission, for example, may not be appropriate for use in conveying. A wide variety of rubber belt is available to meet the varying needs of the many settings in which they are applied.

Some advantages of rubber belt include abrasion resistance, aging resistance, edge wear, impact resistance, low belt stretch, rot resistance, good tensile strength, universal application and weather resistance. Different rubber varieties offer different physical qualities. Natural rubber belt is still used in some applications, but the development of synthetic rubbers like neoprene and silicone has expanded the number of possible uses of rubber belt.

Polyurethane, which is sometimes erroneously referred to as urethane, is another synthetic material that is widely used as a belting material. When used as power transmission belting, rubber can be more desirable than other materials because of its ability to be stretched around difficult angles without becoming subject to deformation.

When used as flat conveyor belting, rubber is appropriate because it can provide a comparatively soft surface on which conveyed objects can rest. Rubber is also easily cleaned and sanitized, which makes it a suitable material for the conveyance of food and other products that must be processed in a contaminant-free environment. Rubber is an overall excellent conveyor material.
